Where impressions really count and events need that extra edge, the University of Aberdeen is the answer. As soon as your delegates enter one of our historic venues, you know they are in an atmospheric building that is in a league of its own.
Blending harmoniously into the ancient quarter of the City in which the University has flourished, our conference and event venues combine historical aesthetics with modern conveniences leaving delegates free to sit back, relax and enjoy the view.
For over 100 years, the University has been host to come of the most significant regional, national and international events. From the opening of Scottish Parliament, to the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, to key industry meetings, we are continually trusted to deliver and exceed customer expectations.
One of the most stunning and ancient venues available at the University of Aberdeen is the baronial Elphinstone Hall, designed and built in 1930. A visit is simply a must to appreciate the uniqueness of the building and the impressive interior, where all period features have been faithfully preserved and maintained. The flexibility of Elphinstone Hall lends itself well to a wide selection of events, from industry exhibitions to business breakfasts, dinner dances and presentations. Located within the heart of the campus, the Hall has a variety of reception and breakout rooms available within close proximity.
Situated adjacent to Elphinstone Hall are the more intimate Linklater Rooms. The Linklater Rooms are the ideal venue for the small- to medium-sized conference or event. The rooms are a popular event for those wishing to have an event followed by a drinks reception of sit-down meal and are looking for a contained and distinctive venue. The Linklater Rooms can also be used as an additional venue to Elphinstone Hall, either for breakout sessions, refreshments, or registration.
The most notable of the University's conference and event venues is the King's College Conference Centre, used for the opening of Scottish Parliament in 2002. Situated in one of the most attractive and historic corners of the campus, the conference centre provides a purpose-built venue for organizers.
The University of Aberdeen has recently restored the Old Town House as part of its commitment to conserving the historic buildings of Old Aberdeen. Ideal for the smaller event, the three-storey building boasts a ground-floor reception, an open meeting space on the first-floor and a fully equipped meeting room on the top-floor. The top-floor meeting room is truly stunning with a blend of modern and contemporary furniture, set against period features and impressive views of Old Aberdeen High Street and skyline. This room is ideal for board meetings, training, presentations or seminars and is a popular choice for organizers who are looking for a distinctive space.
