Milton Restaurant Owners buy Raemoir House Hotel 10/09/10

Raemoir House Hotel, Banchory

The new owners of Raemoir House Hotel, Banchory are Neil and Julie Rae, currently owners of the Milton Restaurant at Crathes. The two century-old country house hotel which sits in 10 acres of parkland only 15 minutes west of Aberdeen, transferred ownership on Friday 3rd September 2010.  The 20 roomed property is made up of the 14 room Raemoir House Hotel and the 6 room Ha' Hoose, which dates from 1715 and was the original Raemoir House. Plans for the hotel include a 150 seat marquee.

Neil Rae, the proprietor of The Milton said "I first went to the hotel with my parents when I was about 6 and have vague memories of it. Susbsequent visits over the years kept my interest in the business and when the opportunity arose earlier this year I had no doubt that it was something I had to try and do. It has become very tired over the years but with the reputation it once held as one of Aberdeenshire's best Country House Hotels I am sure that together with the level of  culinary skills we have created at the Milton Restaurant, a lot of hard work and refurbishment it can be become popular once again."
