MALMAISON ABERDEEN SEES RISE IN ROOM HIRE REVENUE WITH ADDITION OF MEETINGS AND EVENTS SPACE 18/02/11

Malmaison Aberdeen has seen a significant increase in its room hire revenue since the addition of a dedicated meetings and events space.

The Rubislaw facility enables the award-winning hotel to provide tailored space for up to 45 people, as well as stylish private dining for larger parties.

Rubislaw has proved to be popular for corporate boardroom meetings, presentations, drinks receptions, product launches, corporate entertaining - including wine and whisky tasting - and team building activities.

The room is completely flexible and can accommodate 45 theatre style, 22 boardroom style or up to 30 for private dining.

Adam Steel, meetings and events co-ordinator at Malmaison Aberdeen, said: "Rubislaw has a modern feel and like the rest of the hotel, injects a contemporary local flavour with eye-catching photography from the surrounding area.

"For an extra special touch, you can arrange a tasting in the Whisky Snug or at the Laroche table in the wine cellar. Sommeliers and whisky experts offer tasting sessions in these dedicated spaces or at your table, the perfect breakout or wind down experience."

The new facilities have been welcomed by Aberdeen Convention Bureau.

Jacky Selway, manager of Aberdeen Convention Bureau, added: "The additional meetings space at Malmaison Aberdeen has already won support from the local and national business community, and it further strengthens Aberdeen's position as a key business tourism destination, cemented by major developments in the region, such the Trump International Golf Links."

The team at Aberdeen Convention Bureau proactively promotes Aberdeen City and Shire to attract new conferences to the region, travelling worldwide to pursue business and attending global trade missions and networking events with buyers and decision makers.

The team also organises and hosts site inspection visits with invited conference organisers, to showcase the best venues and facilities the North-east has to offer.
