Hilton Garden Inn Aberdeen City Centre appoints Paul Wood as General Manager 03/08/10

Aberdeen, Scotland, 03 August 2010 - Hilton Garden Inn has today announced that Paul Wood has been appointed as general manager of Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) Aberdeen City Centre, the first HGI in Scotland.
Paul Wood will oversee the opening and running of the newly built hotel which is due to open in next week. With over 20 years experience in the hotel industry, Paul will lead a team of 40 professionals. Previously at Hilton Craigendarroch in Ballater, Wood has worked with MacDonald, Stakis and Swallow Hotels.
Stewart Lorimer, Hilton area general manager, North of Scotland, said, "We are delighted to appoint Paul Wood to the position of general manager for Hilton Garden Inn Aberdeen City Centre. Paul has proved himself to be a fantastic addition to the Hilton team over the past two years and his leadership skills, insight into the business and passion for hospitality will contribute greatly to the hotel's success over the months and years ahead."
Wood said, "I am delighted to be involved in launching the HGI brand to the Scottish market place. The hotel is looking fantastic as we get closer to the opening and I'm sure both leisure and business travellers will be impressed with the service, facilities and standard the hotel has to offer."
Hilton Garden Inn Aberdeen City Centre will be located in the heart of Aberdeen City Centre, 15 minutes from Aberdeen Airport and only minutes from the city's train and bus station. The hotel features modern conveniences suited to the savvy business traveller, along with a great location and recreational amenities to please leisure guests. It will be the second HGI to open in the UK, with the first opening in Luton North in August 2008.
