AECC strengthens Sales and Marketing Team with new appointments 20/07/10

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) is pleased to announce new key appointments to its established Sales and Marketing team. Ria Sleigh and Jen Martin, both from Aberdeen, have joined the team to support the increased sales effort at AECC.

Ria has taken on the role of Senior Sales Executive (Association), formerly a Communications Officer at Aberdeen City Council and latterly the Marketing Manager at Petrofac she brings a wide range of skills and event experience to her new role. Ria will be responsible for attracting new national and international association conferences to AECC.

Jen, who has been appointed as Sales Executive, previously worked as a Projects Administrator for Sureclean and a Customer Service Representative at Regus. Jen will be dealing with AECC's local corporate sales and also project managing the bookings for AECC's 25th Birthday Celebrations in September and our ‘Bring Your Party to Our Party' Events in December.

Brian Horsburgh Managing Director of AECC said, "It is a pleasure to welcome Ria and Jen to the team and I am sure they will both be great additions to the Sales department. Their fresh perspective will allow the team to continue to grow the local and association conference market."

Additionally, Anna Mackenzie has been promoted to Acting Head of Sales whilst Louise Lonie, Head of Sales and Marketing, is on maternity leave. Victoria Withy-Drysdale, who first joined AECC in 2003, and has had a consultant role at the Centre for the past 3 years has taken on the role of, PR and Marketing Manager in addition to her current role as head of Professional Conference Organisation (PCO) on a part time basis in Louise's absence.

Brian continues, "It is fantastic to know I have such a strong and passionate Sales, Marketing and PR team working at the AECC. Our 25th Anniversary this year is an exciting time for us all and I am confident we will continue to gain business for Aberdeen during the remainder of 2010 and beyond."
