Fyvie Live 2012 04/08/12 - 04/08/12
The much-anticipated line up for Fyvie Live 2012 was announced today on the lawns of Fyvie Castle.
Back by popular demand, following the sell-out success of the inaugural event last year, Fyvie Live 2012 promises to be one of the biggest North-east open-air music concerts this summer.
Topping the bill is superstar, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who is sure to work the Fyvie Live crowd into a frenzy with her much-loved hits and high-energy charisma and charm. This year's fantastic line up will also include live performances from Scottish super group Breabach; up and coming singer, Stephen Innes, the wildly entertaining cover band the Bogus Brothers; as well as a showcase of budding North-east talent.
Sarah-Jane Milne, PR and fundraising manager for Friends of ANCHOR, comments: "To follow the the success of last year's event has been no easy feat but we're on course to make Fyvie Live 2012 even bigger and better, with the line-up packed with a host of impressive musical stars and talent. We're looking forward to welcoming people once more to the lawns of Fyvie Castle which is certainly one of the country's most spectacular back drops for an open-air music concert."
The event, in aid of Friends of ANCHOR, comes in the 15th anniversary of the Aberdeen-based cancer charity which directly supports the main cancer care NHS facility in the North- east, the ANCHOR Unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Friends of ANCHOR chairman, Jim Milne, said: "Hosting the first Fyvie Live last year was an incredibly special event to be part of and we're delighted to be able to bring it to the North-east once again.
"Fyvie Live is a fantastic platform for Friends of ANCHOR in terms of fundraising and driving awareness. More importantly though, it's a precious opportunity to bring so many people together, many of whom have been affected by cancer, to have a unique day out with great company, fantastic entertainment and fond memories to take away."
Last year over £70,000 was raised from the event and this year Fyvie Live hopes to bring in over £100,000 for the charity which is committed to offering the best possible care, treatment and support for cancer patients attending the ANCHOR Unit, through and after their diagnosis.
Over 6,000 people are expected to descend on the lawns of Fyvie Castle which will open at 4pm to a host of entertainment and live performances. There will be lots of off-stage activity as well including face painting, a raffle, lawn games, an arts and crafts market and a high quality food quarter to keep the whole family entertained throughout the day. The grand finale will take place at 10pm under a canopy of spectacular fireworks.
An exclusive after show party in the company of Sophie Ellis-Bextor has been especially organised for VIP guests which will go on until 1am.
A special early-bird ticket offer is available until 31st May with tickets starting at £25 for adults, £20 for concessions and £70 for a family of four. To purchase tickets please visit www.fyvie-live.co.uk .
