Environmental Policy
VisitScotland - Aberdeen and Grampian
The Environment is Scotland and Aberdeen and Grampian's most important asset.
Over 80% of visitors rate the environment as the feature they like most. The term "environment" encompasses many features including: scenery, nature and wildlife, built heritage, walking and cycling trails, all the planted flowerbeds in Aberdeen & Grampian, and the cleanliness and quality of land, water and air.
VisitScotland - Aberdeen & Grampian has made a commitment to adopting "green" practices and signed up to the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The scheme is regarded as one of the best in Europe and encourages businesses that benefit from tourism to do what they can to operate in an environmentally friendly way. Businesses can achieve bronze, silver or gold awards depending on measures undertaken.
VisitScotland - Aberdeen Network Office and Aberdeen Convention Bureau have already achieved a Silver Award and are committed to building on this achievement.
